THE DEPOT: OPEN MIC

Every Tuesday night at 8pm, The Depot hosts an open mic where anyone can perform for ten minutes. The variety of talent and genre run the spectrum. From stand-up comedy to punk bands, folks come to this dive bar in Baltimore City to get their turn on the microphone. There’s gear for a band with house drums and house guitar along with stage lights and professional sound. Folks can speak, sing, play, or even perform to a track with original or cover songs. The ten-minute limit and quick turnaround between acts keeps the night moving. Each week the audience votes on a winner. Once a quarter the previous weeks’ winners compete for the top three who win prizes from local sponsors. First place gets professional studio recording time at The Watermelon Room and a music video produced by Michael Ivan Schwartz.
